Monash University Campus Master Plans

ASPECT Studios working with MGS Architects and other consultants have developed a set of comprehensive master planning documents to guide the future development of the Caulfield, Clayton and Gippsland Campuses of Monash University.

The Caulfield Campus Master Plan proposes a bold new central plaza with a system of interconnected walks and courtyard spaces. The plaza is the main outdoor hub and its design was generated by balancing the functional aspects of the space with a ‘university green’ character whilst designating areas for sports, leisure, study, movement and stormwater treatment.

The Clayton Campus of Monash University is spread over a large area. The Plan seeks to link the disparate outdoor spaces and provide clear linear ‘walks’ to give structure and definition to this campus. It proposes a hierarchy of materials to help define where custom or bespoke design should occur along the walks, courtyards and plazas.

The Gippsland Churchill Campus of Monash University is a key regional campus. This Master Plan seeks to reconnect the campus with the town centre, provide a strong wayfinding network, and upgrade the student accommodation.
