Matt is an accomplished landscape architect and urban designer who has delivered a number of award winning public realm and landscape projects across Australia. He is driven by a passion to realise project outcomes that exceed client expectations and deliver exceptional places.
Having key skills in design leadership, combined with extensive technical and project delivery experience, Matt provides clients with confident project leadership from concept through to construction. Working with both public and private sector clients, he has led design, documentation and construction phases of complex urban projects including the South East Stadium Precinct, Victoria Harbour Waterfront, Glebe Foreshore Walk and SICEEP Darling Harbour Precinct. He has also led strategic masterplans for large precincts, including Harbour Esplanade, Docklands and the Newcastle City Centre.
Matt is passionate about the sustainable development of our cities and has a key focus on green infrastructure and living architecture research and design projects. He has led a number of industry benchmark projects such as the Burnley Living Roofs, an internationally significant research and learning facility for the University of Melbourne, and Medibank Place, one of Australia’s greenest commercial buildings with a unique growing facade system, extensive green walls, interior landscape and roof gardens.
Matt also has a keen interest in play and education landscapes and has experience working on early childhood, regional playgrounds, primary, secondary and tertiary education projects. This includes the Harbour Family & Children’s Centre, Docklands, a signature project refocusing on nature based play and most recently the Rosebud Foreshore Playspace, for the Mornington Peninsula Shire.
