As we round out the year, there’s a bumper crop of winners to report.
International Awards – we were a tour deforce at the 2017 International Federation of Landscape Architects Asia-Pacific Awards (IFLA), held at the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park Hotel in November 2017, where we received three Awards of Excellence (one in collaboration with OCULUS) and two Honourable Mentions. These projects (listed below) have been widely covered, so we’d simply like to thank and congratulate all our clients and collaborators involved.

Hot on the heels of winning Gold Prize at the 7th ‘Yuan Ye’ Award Professional Competition, ASPECT’s Light of City (Retail Phase 1) project in Hefei in the eastern Chinese province of Anhui, was recently awarded (in the Space category) at the 2017 Successful Design China Awards. Our Shanghai studio representatives attended the gala presentation at the Shanghai Expo Exhibition Hall, along with a host of international practices and consulate representatives.
To be recognised among so many projects competing is a great honour, particularly as it’s the first year ASPECT Studios has been invited to enter this international award, of more than 12 years standing. What makes the award special is its focus not only on the design alone, but the social influence and marketing value that a project brings.

National Awards – we received Commendations at not one, but two award ceremonies. Australian Urban Design Awards for two projects: Junction Place (Delivered Outcome – Large Scale), and Parramatta Civic Link (Policies, Programs and Concepts – Small Scale). Congratulations on this collaborative team effort to Development Victoria and Wodonga Council for Junction Place and SJB Architects and City of Parramatta for Parramatta Civic Link.
